The first couple of sessions are about building rapport and establishing goals. My approach is slow and steady, to build a foundation of trust and tools that will support deeper trauma work. Sessions can be mostly talk therapy, but may comprise of guided imagery, EMDR, grounding techniques, and open chair.

In the state of Florida, therapists are required to complete a minimum of 2 years of supervised post-Master’s level clinical work, prior to issuing a license. This simply means that a therapist has graduated and is working towards meeting the state requirements for state licensure.
Though less experienced, Registered Interns have been seeing clients since their master’s programs, and have advantages such as recency to their education, and may be typically more invested in continuing their education in their research, and providing more individualized care.

Self pay sessions are $125 a session. Sliding scale may be discussed on a case by case basis. Some clients may find themselves preferring self pay for privacy concerns, as data does not need to be shared with anyone else. Self pay also allows for flexibility in session duration and does not require a diagnosis, which many clients may find the label to be pathologizing or unhelpful in their journey.
